The Skellington Siblings

Description

I refuse to feel silly about something that's practically canon. Actually, I refuse to feel silly about my Next Gen characters anymore, I like my Next Gen characters. Gasp, shock, horror.

I already drew the eldest of the kids (August 2005, [link] right there), but the soundtrack says that they have "four or five skeleton children". Well, I made them corpse children with skeletons and detachable body parts, same thing. The point is, there's more than one and I needed to draw that. I felt a need to. So here they are: the Skellington kids. With their super-obvious names.

Daniel Christopher Skellington: In the middle, the eldest of the siblings. He may be considered the "Pumpkin Prince", and he certainly has the charisma and creativity to make for a future Pumpkin King. Though a bit more subdued than Jack, he's definitely his father's son, sharing his enthusiasm and kind nature... and a good deal of his obliviousness, unfortunately. Daniel is the most musical of the siblings and plays several instruments well, though his favorite is definitely the xylophone (he's holding one of his xylophone mallets). Like all of the Skellington kids, he was constructed by Jack and Sally and then brought to life by the science of Dr. Finkelstein, who only agreed to this as long as none of the kids refer to him as their grandfather. And they don't... not to his face, at least.

Emily Lydia Skellington: The second of Jack and Sally's children and the eldest girl, she's younger than Daniel by about seven years. That's when they figured it'd be nice if Daniel had a little sister. She's very soft-spoken and intelligent, like her mother, though she's somewhat more talkative and confident. She's quite the bookworm and has a talent for design.

Nicholas Edgar Skellington & Helena Catherine Skellington: The redheaded twins, about two years younger than Emily. They weren't supposed to be twins, but accidents happen, and Jack and Sally think of it as a wonderful accident. Finkelstein, on the other hand, was unable to use his lab for two weeks, and was quite annoyed. Anyway, the twins. Nick (almost no one calls him Nicholas) is a bit more rowdy than his siblings, but he's still incredibly harmless. He's a bit of a clown and a prankster, and longs to be the best trick-or-treater in Halloween Town. As such, he looks up to Lock, Shock and Barrel, who are mostly amused by him. Helena, who is occasionally nicknamed Elly by her siblings, doesn't try to be a troublemaker like her brother, but has a very active imagination and loads of creative ideas. They're both very talkative and very energetic.

Vincent Edward Skellington: The youngest and quietest of the Skellington siblings. Vincent is a sweet boy, but he is very shy and rarely speaks to people outside of his immediate family. When he does gather the courage and speaks to outsiders, he speaks in a very soft, almost whispery voice. He is also very curious and eager to learn, and can often be found following his father around while he's giving the townspeople tips on improving their new Halloween scares. Vincent is very fond of building models and conducting silly experiments, and Daniel often jokes that "Vin is trying to follow in Grandpa Finkelstein's footsteps".

Also? They all sew. And they're all really, really tall.

This is the best interpretation of the Skellington Children.
