Ahhhhhhhh omigosh I'm finished I can't believe it I never thought I'll be done gaaaaaah *foams at mouth*

Okay, okay. No, seriously, I was doubting it. Since it's SUCH A HUGE PICTURE with like, 26 people in it, holy jeez that is more people than I ever put in one place!

Comedy Central started airing here in the beginning of the month and that means lots and lots of South Park. I've always loved South Park and always will but now I'm watching lots. And I'm in a South Park mood! Whee! So four days ago I drew this little picture of the boys' fourth grade class, using the girls' infamous List, clues from the episodes themselves and more wiki than a human being should be exposed to in three days. I worked on this thing for hours every day. LITERAL HOURS. I forgot to eat and bathe. And when I remembered it was three in the morning. THIS IS HOW DEDICATED I AM.

I had a little trouble with the shading because with the way I normally shade, on a normal layer under the lineart, it just takes too long with so many characters. Luckily, I found a neat trick: use a black brush on a layer above the base color layer set to Soft Light on about 35% opacity. Instant shading for most colors and minimal fiddling with the brush color! I pretty much had to shade individually for colors on the CMYK color model.

None of the given names are made up, but Millie's full name is speculation and Red's name Rebecca is one out of two possible ones. Most of the family names aren't made up, either, and the ones that are were picked from various South Park-y sources (including fanon nicknames, like Francis' "Lockie" moniker).

More notes!

:bulletblack: Sitting order was not organized per height, as in real life, but rather by relative importance. Except for Tweek who's way up in the back because his hair is huge.

:bulletblack: My style is just a tad more naturalistic than the South Park style, so I had to play with some of the hair colors. Red and Sally's bright red hair was switched to two shades of less bright red, and all the blondes got different shades because bright yellow is just not cool.

:bulletblack: Timmy's wheelchair was surprisingly easy to draw. Jimmy's crutches were less so.

:bulletblack: Francis looks derp on purpose because he's quite low on the girls' List, even in fannish speculations. I think he's super 'dorable with his silly lock and all but what do I know, all those South Park fourth graders look about the same in the original style. I still think Francis is cute even though he's derp. Did you know he's a Jew Scout? He's part of the reason why South Park has a synagogue in later seasons, surely.

:bulletblack: Kevin looks derp not-on-purpose. I tried to make him look non-Caucasian 'cause he's Chinese-American. Totally failed. Sorry Kevin, ILU for serious and did not mean to make you look derp.

:bulletblack: Butters is such a little kid he still wears Velcro shoes. He also sits like a four-year-old girly girl.

:bulletblack: I adore Kyle.
