Good Night, Sweet Prince

One upon a time, there was an Uchiha Sasuke. And I liked that Sasuke, even though he was a giant berk. For you see, I got into Naruto near the end of Part I, when Sasuke's saddening past was revealed. I could not help but feel bad for the little boy whose entire clan was massacred by his beloved older brother. Especially since the little boy was a cute little thing with huge eyes who wanted to be a policeman for great justice. I dig this stuff.

Years passed, Itachi was revealed to have been a loving brother, and again I felt horrible for Sasuke, who was STILL an adorable little munchkin as a little boy and now ended up killing the last member of his family, who loved him all along. Poor, poor Sasuke. Sasuke deserved a hug.

But then Sasuke went apeshit and decided that everyone needs to die, and if you're going to stand in his way, well, you're going to die too. Which made me so, so sad and I kind of wanted to punch Kishimoto in the face. One of the many reasons. Dude, I was one of the people that LIKED the Itachi twist, why take that and make it an excuse to have Sasuke rampage like a hooped-up gorilla? Screw that. I lost every little bit of sympathy I still had for him. I feel like that adorable little boy is lost forever.

So. Ickle Itachi hugging ickle Sasuke. With a guest appearance by Mr. Roary, the world's best dino plushy. It makes me feel a little better.
